Definitely not targeted by any angler but for those that catch and release, this is a very over looked species.
Size range from 1 to 20 lbs and they will strip line as good as any fish in the lake.
What they lack in looks or as a food source they more then make up for as a freight train of power with two good runs they tire out and are easy to get in the boat and release.
Most Sheepshead are caught in the open water 8 to 10′ deep either very vertical jigging 1′ off the bottom or trolling the Hardwood Islands with small spinners or a worm harness.
